I was out on the ice today….

…and I accidentally picked up a Japanese curler instead of Todd the new cameraman’s tripod. I can’t help it; they were wearing black and I was still bleary-eyed.

Today was the last day of regular work, which means I have only one day left in my contract, which also means I may not work tomorrow because there may not be any tie-breaker matches, which are slated to be held tomorrow. Hurrah.

The big Canada-USA draw was on my sheet today, and it also happened to be the final match in the men’s round-robin competition. It was huge, and Team USA actually managed to garner the support of the Swiss after they had finished cheering their team onto victory.

They also pronounce USA as “Oo Ess Eh.”

Tomorrow is my last day of work. I sincerely hope that when it comes time to check out, TOBO decides to send a driver who operates on normal time, as opposed to Italian time. In Italian time, if you say, “Pick me up at seven,” what you’re actually saying is “Pick me up sometime this week, and take your time. I’m in no hurry.”
